Wish you could combine your two favorite sports--ice hockey and mini-golf-- into one incredible experience? Now's your chance! Introducing United Way's first-ever:
inspire4life Puck-Putt Challenge
Join us Thursday, October 2, 2008, 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Prudential Center's South Garden. You'll have a ball watching local youth and their mentors team up to play a rousing round of "puck-putt"-miniature golf using hockey sticks!
United Way is delighted to partner with Boston Properties and the Boston Bruins for this fun-filled event to celebrate the importance of mentoring and positive adult-youth relationships.
Bruins players will be on hand to guide teams through the front nine and demonstrate how they serve as role models for youth. There will also be a host of games and activities for adults and children:
Why Puck-Putt?
The Puck-Putt Challenge is part of United Way's inspire4life campaign, a community movement which calls upon adults to get involved with youth and inspire them for a life of success. Research overwhelmingly confirms that positive youth-adult relationships help keep kids safe and engaged in school, with options for a successful future. Unfortunately, too many youth do not have this kind of necessary support. inspire4life offers opportunities to make a difference in youth's lives. Learn more at www.inspire4life.org.
